~Skim~

I must say I enjoyed reading this book, I especially enjoyed the images of this book, but there where a couple of things that had me confused. For instances, was skim having a sort of relationship with her teacher? Because if I am not mistaken one day while they were outside having there usual smoke and talk they kissed! But it seems like right after that the teacher just kinda up and leaves school. I was wondering why she did that, did someone find out? or was she just uncomfortable? I would have liked to know more about that situation. I also thought the issue of suicide that been brought up alot for it to have been a childrens book. I felt as if by the end of the book the friends sort of shifted. But I still enjoyed reading this book.

Beauty Pressure (Dove Commerical)

Class key Terms and Image

All of these images I have chosen represent some form of the key words covered in our course material. I choose to illustrate the body, relationships, make-up, the "writer" and barbie. When I looked at the image of Demi Moore with absolutely have nothing on but paint. I love Demi Moore but I feel her image future perpetuates that idea of the perfect body. I like the way relationships where presented as well as the writer. I feel as though these where true forms of these words. And if you all have noticed the real "barbies" I have in my picture. These women are beautiful and look like they have no flaws but I'm sure you all recall the video of the dove evolution commercial how much a computer can change your appearance is amazing.

Coke Snorting Barbie

Coke Snorting Barbie

Barbie and her twelve step program.....Check out this link its TOOOOOO FUNNY!

Duhamel, Denise "Kinky"

I really enjoyed reading this book and i found it a really easy read. The poems sometimes got tedious but for the most part I truly enjoyed the book. My favorite poem would have to be "Barbie Joins a Twelve Step Program" it gives a version into the fact that even Barbie has bad days the opening of the poem or exert is hiliarious.

Barbie is bottoming out,
she's sitting on the pity pot. She hasn't the know-how to express
any of her emotions. Before she even gets
to her first meeting, she takes the first step, admits
her life has become unmanagable.

I found it funny to compare barbie to a actual human who is having problems "managing their lives" I guess I just feel good knowing that even somone as "PERFECT" as Barbie can have problems and needs help every once in a while. (lol)
